After dinner in his friends, Awtry's, car. He was very excited to ride in a convertible
back to their house! This last Friday night Conner got to spend the night at Awtry's house because it was Awtry's brother's birthday party, it was his first slumber party at a non family member's house :)

The next day we went straight from Awtry's house to a birthday pool party for Conner's other good friend Will. It was an awesome party and perfect on a hot Saturday!

37 weeks :)

Mark was going to be gone. ( I guess we'll save it for something else)!

So as most of you know Mark left Friday morning for his officer training camp in Washington. Well as of Saturday he was trying to get home. I don't think any of us could have predicted what a short trip this was going to be. Mark has left many times, and we have always done fine apart. I think Conner and I had prepared a lot better for him leaving, and really I was as fine as can be with him having to go for 23 or 24 days. Anyway, long story short, Mark got really home sick, and with me about ready to pop at any minute I think he was really feeling like he needed to be home at this time and for the summer. So we picked him up this morning after he flew in on a red eye, and Conner and I are of course super excited to have him back :)
Prayers for tomorrow would be awesome, we have two long separate doctors appointments. Not only will that be exhausting, but we are hoping that Lincoln has rotated and is in a head down ready to go position!

So today was the day that Mark left...we really enjoyed this week together. Mark and Conner got to enjoy seeing a 3D movie together and we all went to dinner and dessert last night. Our countdown begins, about 23 days till he returns. Conner will have a hard time with him gone, especially since Mark is normally home sooo much, but I know he will be fine and the time will pass quickly :) Only about nine days till one of his favorite Aunts comes to stay for 10 days!!! We can't wait to have Nicole here! Then the other favorite Aunt, Kayla, comes for a few more days!!! The Mark will be back, so it's not to bad with all the fun visitors. That's all for now, wish me luck as I'm here with this silly 6 1/2 year old, and please pray that these next 9 days fly by with ease :) I will try and post again either Tuesday evening or Wednesday and report about how my doctor appointments go on Tuesday. Hopefully this little guy is head down, but not ready to come out yet :/

We have a name!!! (and other new things) ~

So first things first... we have finally decided on a name for lil boy number 2! We have had a lot of options since the beginning and have slowly been narrowing it down. It's really one of the only names that all three of us like. His name will be: Lincoln Woodruff Blackwood
We ALL love the name Lincoln and for short we might call him Linc, or some other made up nick name :) Woodruff was Mark's Granddad's name, who passed away when Mark was small. So that's it! It feels soooo good to finally have a name for this lil bugger and be able to call him something!
We went to my (supposed to be) last specialist appointment on Tuesday. Everything looks really great, we got some awesome 4D images of his squishy little face. He is weighing at least 5 pounds at this point, so he is definitely healthy in weight :) The only bummer is that he is laying sideways...he has been head down for a while now, so we thought he would stay that way, but I guess not. I'm doing some exercises to try and get him to flip and we are really hoping and praying that he does. We still have some time for him to make his way down so were not to concerned yet. So I will go back in in about 3 weeks (when I'm about 37 weeks) and we'll see if there's any progress. Otherwise they can try and rub/ work him down. And worst case scenario is I will need a C-section... I REALLY REALLY don't want a c-section, but as long as Lincoln and I are healthy that's all that really matters. So prayers for his rotation would be awesome!
So on a none baby related note :) Conner is enjoying his summer break so far like crazy! We pretty much live at the pool and he is growing gills. Even with high SPF he is now looking part African American :) Today we had a bunch of boys over from school for a pool party, so that was awesome for him to get to be crazy with his friends!
We are all moved into the new place, and it's great to have some more space, and to be able to set Lincoln's cute room up! Conner loves his new room, not only is it bigger, but he gets an awesome view of the pool and tennis courts from one of his windows :) And we are all three enjoying our time together before Mark has to leave on June 17th, he will only be gone for a few weeks, but I know both Conner and I will miss having him around all the time. We are so thankful though that he has been on break since May to be able to do so much for us, making it nice for me to not have to do anything, and playing with Conner and being super involved with everything he has going on. Field Day~

Mark and I were excited to get a chance to participate in Tealsey's all day field day yesterday.
We were thankful that the weather wasn't to hot and there was no humidity :)
All the kids had an awesome time, and we are blessed to have such an amazing elementary school for Conner to be a part of :)

As far as how things are going with little baby boy Blackwood: things are going really great!
We kinda have a name, but haven't really made it public just yet (in the off chance that we change our minds). I'm feeling really good, and adjusting to my ever growing tummy :)
We went to the dr.'s today and the little guy is 3.5 pounds! (which seems really big to me), and I'm 30 weeks today! So I definitely feel as ginormous sense of accomplishment. Everything is looking great with all of his measurements and development. We are staying super busy with both Mark and Conner finishing this school year. Mark has his finals this week (I can;t wait for him to finish!), and Conner only has a few weeks left. He has something big going on pretty much all the time up until he's done, so we are busy busy getting everything finished. I definitely feel the fatigue, some days I go to the doctor's and do one load of laundry and I'm ready for the day to be over :)

My Meerkats :) I'm so bummed I didn't take any pictures of the real Meerkats! They were one of our favorites! We all wanted to take one home.

We have had such amazing weather lately!!! It's been around 75 or so, and soooo beautiful outside, with all the trees blooming pink and white! I keep wanting it to get hot so we can swim in the pool, but then I quickly remind myself that the weather we are having now is the best! Once summer hits with it's nasty humidity, bugs and heat I will quickly wish for this wonderful spring :)
On another awesome note: thank you all so much for the prayers this last week especially! They were truly answered. Our lil man had a nice healthy growth spurt, and is no longer in the small dangerous growth percentile. His bones are measuring nice and long, and he now weighs a pound and a half, which is perfect! I had my appointment with the specialist again today, and literally things could not have looked better! I am now 23 1/2 weeks along and doing great! Thank you, and please keep the prayers coming :)

I have no new good pictures to post as of now :( Hopefully once I get a chance to scan some ultrasounds pictures, I will put them up on here. It's kinda neat since I get a super long ultrasound every other week, with pictures every time, I'm putting them in a little book to watch this little guy grow! It's very exciting to watch how much he changes and grow every other week with the pictures. It's been a crazy week, I will be 22 weeks on Tuesday, and it's crazy to think that we lost our sweet Kloe at 21 1/2 weeks last summer. It's such a blessing since everything is going so great this time around! I did start my progesterone injections on Monday, a nurse will come to our house every Monday from now on until 36 weeks to hopefully insure that this little guy stays in nice and long. They weren't as painful as I had anticipated, so I am very thankful for that. Just wanted to update on how things are so far, I would love some continued prayers! Our little guy is a little on the small side. It could be a measurement error (we'll double check in two weeks), or he could end up having a major growth spurt. I'm not to concerned at this point, since he still has plenty of time to grow, but some extra growth prayers would be awesome! Everything else about him looks amazing!!! Thank you

It's been a while.....

So it's been forever since I've blogged! Sorry to the few people that read this :) It's been a combination of the busyness of life, and the lack of blog topics. But that will change as of now as I will now try and blog at least once a month for a while~ First here are a couple pictures of Conner when we got hit with the crazy snow storm a while back, and we were snowed it for about 3 or 4 days. It seems crazy to even look at these pictures as it's been in the mid to high 70's lately! But I want to get caught up on pictures, so that now I can continue to add more without getting out of order.
So now to more present information...we are pregnant, again! We have known for some time now (probably mid November, I guess), but for obvious reasons we were hesitant on telling everyone. I was 20 weeks as of yesterday, so around that half way mark! I see my regular doctor often, as well as seeing a specialist once a week. So everything is looking good! We are about 99% sure it's a boy, which Conner is waaay excited for!!! I will start some progesterone injections soon to insure that this lil dude stays in nice a long. So that's about it for now, I will try and update somewhat regularly for the remainder, and thank you for all the prayers! I will only be updating and commenting on the blog or on private message on Facebook, so feel free to write :)

Surgery!!!.....

As many of you already know Conner was blessed with to many teeth in his mouth. Our lil shark boy! Normally having more or to many of something is a good thing, but unfortunately in this case it is not good, and quite a problem. Conner is at the stage where his teeth are falling out all over the place, which is exactly what they should be doing. But instead of having a set of baby teeth to fall out and then having one set of adult teeth, he has two extra baby teeth in the same area. You would never notice that this was going on in his gum's just by looking at him, so luckily at a routine cleaning his dentist notice one extra tooth on his new x-rays.
So after a referral to an awesome oral surgeon we went and met with him a few weeks ago. He found out that there are two extra teeth both over his front baby tooth (that hasn't fallen out yet, because of this). We have been waiting and praying like crazy since then trying to figure out if our insurance will cover it, and if so how much will be covered. We did get an estimate of about how much this kind of particular surgery would cost, and Mark and I were not looking forward to trying to work that into our budget :) But it has to be done! Yesterday we got a call from the surgeons office where the sweet lady there has been tackling our insurance for us (which is awesome that we didn't have to!), and she informed us that they are willing to cover the entire thing!!! WHAT?! Yup that's right EVERYTHING! Which to me is ridiculous, but such an answer to prayer, and it will for sure make this entire process that much easier (at least on our wallets).
So with that figured out we were ready to make an appointment. His surgery will be on January the 4th at 10 a.m. I'm thankful that's it's in the morning seeing as he doesn't get to eat anything after dinner the night before, we are not looking forward to that, with the kid that eats ALL the time! Mark and I will both be there for the surgery which he will be fully under for, and should only take about an hour or two. Then we get to bring our groggy guy home and once he's feeling up to it he will get smoothie's and milkshakes to sip on. He is very excited about the thought of that! He will go to school on Monday the 3rd and get a homework packet for the week as well as any other work or activities that he will miss so that we can work on things a bit when he is feeling up to it. Luckily missing 4 days of school for him will be no big deal since he is always ahead of the game and he would never let himself get behind.
Our big hope is that obviously the surgery itself will go perfect, but also for the development of his mouth post-op. We are sooo praying that after these little extra teeth are removed that the rest of his teeth will be able to continue to fall out and grow where they need to. And that his front adult tooth will be able to come down naturally on it's own into place, without the need for any kind of braces.
We would love some serious prayers on January 4th, and the doctors prepare for surgery, and for Conner and his anxiety, that he would just be able to be calm and relax, and trust that God will watch over him and protect him. And also prayers for the healing in his mouth, and prayers for the movement of his teeth after all is done. Thank you, I will post again I'm sure as this happens!

So I haven't updated this blog in a while, sorry.
We been busy being sick and finishing up school before the Christmas break!
Mark had finals last week and Conner had super fun Christmas activities almost every day.
But now they are both off until after the New Year!!!
Also I got myself a lil part time job~ something to give me something to do
while making a little moola on the side :)

My birthday was Tuesday the 7th, but since both boys were off on Monday we celebrated then.
We swam and played tennis, then got ready and walked around our super cute downtown, and ate at an amazing yummy restaurant! Great 26th!!!

It's been a busy last couple weeks, but filled with super exciting new adventures! We are thankful that things are slowing down a bit now.
Conner is enjoying his new school a lot. The days are still a little long, but overall he really enjoys his teachers and the kids in his class. He loves the scheduled curriculum and how much he is learning. We are still adjusting to the daily homework assignments, but I think with Conner's personality this school is perfect for him! He is loving that there is a beautiful pool and tennis courts really close, we've been taking advantage of the amenities a lot lately. Also one of his front teeth is loose (Ahhhh!) I can't wait to see what he looks like without it! It will be tooth number 3!!
Mark is staying super busy this semester, he's taking pretty full load and keeping his grades high! He is also part of the ROTC program through Tech. So by the time he graduates he will be an Officer. Overall he's enjoying it so far. He work's out in the mornings with them and has one mid day class a week. The morning's are a little early but I think it's really good for him, and we are excited to have a little more Military service under his belt. We think him coming out being an officer and a degree from Tech will be great (and I think Mark was missing the military a bit), and it should be helpful especially since he will probably get a government job of some kind.
I have been busy since the move doing things around the new place. I've enjoyed driving around and getting to know our new neighborhood, and all the fun things that are now close by. Staying busy with Conner trying to catch up with the things he needs to know at his new school, and being a listening ear to everything he has to say about his days at school.
I think we are all enjoying our days since the moves, and we are definitely looking forward to the fall approaching (it's our favorite season here!), the temps have been a little warm this summer!

He is really enjoying school (now), and looks forward to telling us everything he did that day.
It was a rough start, coming form such a small preschool, to such a large Kindergarten.
But he has adjusted well, and has already made quite a few friends!

alas he must go back to school, especially if we ever plan on him not being a student in
near future (or by the time we're 40!), lol

So to sum up what's been going on this last eventful weekend, I'll start with the events that started Friday morning and go from there. I must say before you read this that I'm really writing this for myself, I think it helps to get everything out. So I'm sorry if some things are to detailed and the pictures are to hard to look at, I don't really feel like I wanna hold these precious memories or photos back, so I apologize.
We met with another top specialist who deals with situations like ours, we were hoping to be able to discuss some kind of option. Unfortunately we learned we wouldn't be able to do any form of amniotic fluid injections due to our unique situation. It has worked for some people, but after he did some testing it would be far to dangerous for not only Kloe but could have long term harmful effects on myself as well. We then decided that as long as she stayed alive inside me we would try and keep her in as long as possible, in hopes that she would grow and all of her other organs (except her lungs which can't grow without amniotic fluid) would continue to be strong. Then in the hopes that whenever she came she would at least be bigger and a little more developed so the amazing staff at the NICU could hopefully take over and help in her survival.
Before and after that appointment I hadn't been feeling very good that day (which wasn't to big of a surprise since I haven't really been feeling to good the last month or so). I had been nauseous the entire day and threw up more than I have my entire life. So after we got home from the appointment I took a long nap thinking I would for sure feel better once I woke up. So I woke up from my nap, and pretty much the next 24 hours were a blur, but I'll try and recap as much as I can remember. I woke up from the nap in ridiculous pain and heavy cramping, and we new we needed to get to the hospital asap! We were very fortunate to have Conner be able to go immediately to Mark's cousin and his family's house right away for the evening. Later that evening he was picked up by Mark's Aunt and was able to spend the last two nights up at their house (which has been an amazing blessing).
So we got to the hospital right away (the 30 minute drive feeling of course like it was 3 hours...) it was so amazing our doctor just happened to be there already when we showed up, so he was able to meet us at the front door of the labor and delivery unit. By this point I was having pretty good contractions, not to painful but definitely contractions. And after being assessed it seemed as though my body was try to go into labor, although being that it was so early in the pregnancy I was not dilated at all. They couldn't stop the labor since the baby was already so low, but being that I was only 21 1/2 weeks along we knew even if she came out breathing a bit, it wouldn't be for very long, and not developed enough to make it, even with the most amazing NICU staff on standby. We didn't want anything to speed up the labor, in hopes that my body would stop on it's own, and also we didn't want anything that could possibly cause more complications for Kloe or I. I guess we were just praying my body would stop laboring and she would move back up. We just decided we would wait it out and whatever God had planned for us that night would happen.
We decided to try and get some sleep (knowing that wouldn't happen), and at around 3:30 ish I started having worse pain. I think before the doctors and nurses even came in Mark and I both knew what was about to happen, and that it was going to happen now. My body had dilated on it's own, I think my body new could couldn't carry her anymore. We were afraid to put to much strain on my body and didn't want to have any injury complications in the process, so I breathed and tried not to push at all. At around 5 o'clock yesterday morning (Saturday) Kloe Evelyn came into this world. She was the smallest baby I've ever seen, weighing just under 12 ounces. There was no opportunity for the NICU staff to work their magic, her heart had stopped during the labor process. They took her away while I was finishing up. We are thankful that there doesn't seem to be any damage done to my body, and everything went very smoothly. And physically I felt almost immediately better, It almost felt like I could finally take a deep breath, one that I didn't know I had been holding.
The nurses brought Kloe in a bit later and allowed us as much time as we wanted to spend with her. Mark and I said as soon as our nurse, Nancy, left the room that she was such a gift from God. Not only was she one on the sweetest ladies ever she also helps in the bereavement department. She wasn't supposed to be working in our area that night but for some reason they called her to us. She said she new God wanted her to be with us, and we couldn't be more thankful for her presence throughout everything. We spent most of Saturday with Kloe in our room in her little hospital bassinet. We did take a few pictures, and we are so thankful to have been able to hold her. We are so blessed to have those memories that Mark and I will hold with us forever.
I was released yesterday from the hospital at about 4, where we went home to our very quiet place, which looked exactly the way we left it 24 hours ago. Conner was still at Mark's aunt's house, so Mark and I spent the afternoon just hanging out in bed. We watched a movie together and tried to eat some food. Then after it ended we spent a couple hours balling and sobbing both our eyes out before finally falling asleep holding her baby blanket, that my sister Kayla made for her. Mark says he will probably sleep with it for the next couple nights, I'm not sure he thought he would miss her as much as he does. I on the other hand, although I feel sad I feel very peaceful about her being gone. I too miss her, but I am actually thankful for the timing in which this all took place. I am so thankful for Mark in all this, I can't even think about what it would be like with out him. He has been so strong and taken care of so much for me and Conner, so that I don't have to worry about a thing. I know it has been so stressful for him to manage all that he has lately. I think he is now emotionally allowing himself to grieve all that has happened and not be so strong right now. I know that in the future whenever we think back on this experience and all that it held for us we will visibly be able to see how our relationship has grown. And even out of all this sadness there is so much love, and I have never loved him more.
Conner is actually doing pretty good, he amazes me with his calm maturity. We explained everything and answered any and all his questions. He is so strong and able to say the most amazing things about his sister/his angel. We didn't allow him to be at the hospital at all, I think he would have been fine, I think it was just easier for us if he wasn't there. We did let him see all the pictures of her (there are more than what I will post). We are having her cremated and we will keep her remains as a sweet memory with all of her other belongings.

More updates.... Our rollercoaster...

So today we had another doctor's appointment, and it was determined that nothing has changed. Which is not really good or bad, just the same. There is still no fluid being kept in, yet her heartbeat remains good.
I'm obviously not feeling so hot these days, on top of being tired all day I am extremely uncomfortable. Due to the fact that there is no comfy little sack for Kloe to move and roll about in, it is causing some minor pain. My tummy is really hard all the time and whenever she moves it's killer!
We meet with another specialist on Friday and have some more things done (I'm getting really used to being poked around, which is crazy cause I've never even been able to give blood before). There are many options we are being given trying to keep her healthy and hopefully inside me for as long as possible. It' all just a matter of whether or not these will work. I am still at VERY high risk for going into labor and infection, so we are monitored closely. We are staying hopeful that something will work, but also realistically knowing that there is slim chance that even if she stayed in a little bit longer she would most likely not be able to live breathing on her own.
We will share more as we know and try and keep everyone filled in as much as we are wanting to share at the moment.
Thank you for all the prayers and sweet comments from those friends and family we know and those we don't. They are a great encouragement for all three of us!
P.S. Conner is doing amazing! I feel like Mark and I are doing really great considering everything, but Conner is definitely the strongest. He very much gets whats going on for the moment and is very at peace with it. :)

So no new news really. Just wanted to let everyone know we have a doctors appointment on Wednesday morning, and we will find out more then. We are still praying for a miracle, knowing it could totally happen :)
I will post with some info sometime on Wednesday and let you all know the new info. Conner is will be going to Mark's Aunt's and Grandmother's house on Tuesday afternoon, and we will get him later on Wednesday. It will be nice to have a little alone time in the midst of all this, and plus he will get more one on one attention than he has been getting here lately. I know she has a bunch of super fun activities for them planned :)

First of all we want to thank everyone for the constant prayers, help and support in this extremely difficult time. Also in honor of sweet Kloe I choose to make our blog pink! (not a color I would ever have for anything).
We wanted to fill everyone in on what's been happening lately. It's been hard for Mark have to explain everything over and over, and for those who know me, know I can hardly talk about anything without getting emotional. So I'm sorry I cannot call and personally talk with a lot of you. I am no writer by any means, but I feel like it's the best way to be able to explain all the things that have been going on in detail, for those who would like to know.
I am currently pregnant with sweet baby Kloe Evelyn, who will be exactly 20wks tomorrow (July 22nd). We have definitely had some complications since early on but none that raised to much of a concern. The early ultrasounds came out great, with no issues concerning baby girl.
Until a couple weeks ago when I started having mild bleeding and we went to the E.R. I was put on some antibiotics for an infection, and then last week when my lab results came in it was determined that I had a urinary tract infection. I immediately started the antibiotics for that and made an apt. to see our doctor to follow up. Then just this last Monday, the 19th, we returned to the E.R. when I started having heavier bleeding. They checked me out, and as far as we knew everything was ok. They did recommend that we push up my doctor's appointment to as soon as we can. Which we now no is because they couldn't really disclose to much info, but I'm sure saw the problem.
Thankfully we were able to see our doctor early yesterday morning. I was fully checked out and he then discovered that there is no amniotic fluid. We were immediately sent to see a specialist for more testing and conformation. Basically yesterday we were told that Kloe is inside at a perfect size with a perfect heart beat not able to survive. This could have been caused by the infection, or for no medical reason at all. All we know is that without amniotic fluid her organs will not develop past this 5 month stage, and will start shutting down one by one in order to stay alive.
We were giving a couple options (which were all such a blur for Mark and I to hear at the time). We were told that as long as she is inside in utero she will most likely stay alive, unless her organs shut down completely before she reaches full term. However even if she reached that point none of her organs would be at all developed and she would never survive on her own. We have decided to release her from the womb and allow her to go to heaven where we will one day get to see her again. Carrying her to term and delivering her stillborn could not only cause quite a few complications for myself, but be VERY difficult emotionally for the three of us knowing that there is a 0% chance of her survival.
This morning we met with our doctor again (who by the way couldn't be a great gift for God in this time!). We needed to discuss our decision and this procedure. Unfortunately however I will have to be induced and fully deliver her like normal. Not that any way is a good way, I just know that this will be extremely difficult. She is to large for any other method. It will be really hard to be in the maternity ward for 2 or 3 days and come out without her in our arms.
This will all be happening next week sometime. We will not have a for sure date until later on Monday.
This has been an extremely hard week for the 3 of us, but we trust God's plan and timing and are finding great comfort in all this. We love our sweet Kloe Evelyn and always will, and she will always be a part of this family and our lives.
I will post something after everything takes place explaining how things wen. Again thank you for prayers, and we would definitely appreciate if you kept them coming, especially in these upcoming weeks.

So it started snowing on Friday and was sticking, so as soon as we had

So after much deliberation and talking with people and doing some homework online,
we decided to get another kitten! I know everyone thinks were crazy (maybe), but we are not getting anymore, promise. We really wanted Eva to have a playmate while we are not here. And also when we are here :) His name is Kelso and he is a Blue Russian mix, sooo beautiful!

He has the most amazing ice blue eyes (you might be able to click on the photos to enlarge them)

Eva is adjusting normal. I think she will love having a playmate once he gets a bit bigger, but he will definitely take some getting used to her :) Conner is doing a great job playing with her, and showing her that we still love her, he is also learning so much in the animal world.

So here is his new (used) bedroom set. It was actually Mark's (and his brother's) when he was little, and was discontinued in the 70's from Ethan Allan.
It's is in amazing condition, and Mark's parents gave it to us for Conner.
There's a dresser, cabinet with hutch and the bunk beds.
We had them set up as two twin beds for a while, but bunk beds are way more fun!
They are kinda low bunk beds too, (not sure if you can tell) but the nob/post on the top
is under 4 and a half ft. Great for little kids!!!

First ride of the night! It was a SUPER tiny fair,
but luckily Conner doesn't care, so it was fun for a couple hours.

dog "Jack" who we have been looking after. He really likes Mark!
